Gilbert and George by Jay Brooks

Jay Brooks recently shot eccentric art duo Gilbert and George ahead of their latest exhibition at White Cube in Bermondsey.

The shoot for Event Magazine took Jay and the duo to the streets of London, where they also found inspiration for the pieces in the Scapegoating exhibition.

Gilbert and George have unveiled an exhibition of more than 60 pieces drawing on the East London neighbourhood where they live. The White Cube gallery in south London is hosting the exhibition and says the images “describe the volatile, tense, accelerated and mysterious reality” of our world.

Scapegoating is open to public viewing at White Cube until the 28th of September.

Spring is official here with Rebecca Miller‘s latest fashion shoot for H Mag. Streams of sunshine, floating dresses, looks of innocence…Spring 12 Romanticism.

Rebecca Miller’s latest fashion project, My Marching Band, is a personal one that has reignited our excitement for the French Horn and definitely makes you stand to attention and look! Just a little bit gorgeous, here she talks about her inspiration…

‘I was in my high school marching band my freshman year. The flag team to be specific. Something about marching around my little town throwing this flag around with these huge brass instruments and massive drums behind really stuck with me. It was pretty much the nerdiest thing you could possibly do at that stage in your life and I kinda loved it. I’ve wanted to do a shoot in honour of this awkward time in my life for years. Thanks to my amazing team for helping me make it happen!’

Last Thursday Dean Chalkley held the screening and party for the premiere of his latest film – The New Faces: A Short Film at The Book Club in Shoreditch. The following day it found it’s new home on SHOWstudio – the home of fashion film.

SHOWstudio is an award-winning fashion website, founded and directed by Nick Knight. It has consistently pushed the boundaries of communicating fashion and culture online.

“I’m really thrilled that the film is now screening on The site is an institution dedicated to forward-thinking and challenging new work.” – Dean Chalkley (2012).

Without further ado we bring you THE NEW FACES.

Temperatures are rising and so is the competition on the hit show ‘Dancing on Ice’.

A bookies favourite to win, here Matthew Wolfenden cuts through the ice  to make a very dashing figure for photographer Adrian Green.

For those of you who don’t know, Gavin Watson has photographed Plan B more times than he’s said F$*k You! Ok maybe that’s a slight exaggeration but Gavin is undoubtedly Plan B’s  number 1 man when it comes to photographing him, whether at a festival, recording, with friends and family at home, or on a film set.

Here is the very latest, from his upcoming single and album of the same name, iLL Manors. The single is set to drop on March 25th with an album to follow. Listen to it here.

Just under one week until Dean Chalkely returns to The Book Club for the premiere screening of The New Faces: A Short Film.

Following his landmark photographic exhibition, The New Faces which he unveiled in 2010- a study of eight young ‘Mods’, bound together by their shared passion for smart dressing, rare soul music, socialising and dancing-  the film forms a hypnotic visual experience as well as being an incisive and engaging contemporary document – The New Faces steps inside the minds of three young men captured in the enthrallment of a culture that they have fondly devoted themselves to.

In typical Dean Chalkley style, the film screening at The Book Club will be a party not to be missed. Not only will guests be amongst the first people to view Dean’s new short film, they will be enticed into dancing the night away to a sought-after selection of rare soul, rhythm & blues, ska, Latin and boogaloo! DJs on the night will include Jamie Parr and Tomas McGrath (featured in The New Faces: A Short Film) as well as Dean Chalkley and Si Cheeba (Black Cat) and Jo Wallace.

The New Faces: A Short Film will be hosted exclusively on from 9th March 2012.
